Very elegant. I can hear the Merlins from here – the finest noise in aviation. Sweet light on the nose of the Lanc and Hurricane. With ref pasujoba’s comment re bomb bay – iirc the Grand Slam was a 20,000lb weapon although I think said weapon was slightly proud of a heavily modified bomb bay ? The B17 payload was tiny – I think the A10 could carry more and is a fraction of the size.
Wow! This is superb! Fantastic capture! %-)
My Dad’s cousin flew on the Lancaster Bombers in WW II.
It’s so interesting to see all these old planes you have captured! %-)
Saw them yesterday at Blackpool. Fantastic to watch, took few photos as only took 24-70mm lens as was with friends. Will have an opportunity to catch again at Duxford on 5September, can not wait. Hope the light is as good as this.
Fabulous .
Highlight of the show for me !
Compared to Sally B the Lancs bomb Bay is huge , very impressive .
Lovely shot Ian.
Superb image mate.

Cracking shot mate, always makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end when I see these.
This must have made your heart skip a beat Ian.
It must be so difficult to get a nice sharp shot like this one when they are moving so fast! I take it you had a great day?!
Such superb pictures Ian!!!
