Spitfire Mk Vb BM597
In the colours of No. 317 Polish Fighter Squadron, to which this Spitfire was assigned in 1942.
Cracking shot Ian , rich colours and very vibrant . Have you noticed the shape of the aerial very similar to the P-47 one we found .
love the angle and details,ian..the gunsight makes it…impressed.!
Nice shot Ian. Bags of detail.
Terrific prespective on this Ian
Chocks away !! Bet that sounded good ?
Superb shot Ian, great movement
Love it – from that (great) angle it seems eager to be taking off into the sky
I agree, super shot
wonderful dof — love the vibration on that prop
Powerful image Ian, I love the vibration and the detail in the cockpit!
wow great capture ian
Look at the 6 foot of nose in front of the cockpit…brilliant. The rear view mirror is a nice feature as well.
Good shot from a nice angle.
Many thanks all.
Those Rolls Royce Merlins sound great Andy, nothing better.
Except perhaps a Packard Merlin on a P51 Mustang…
like the blur of the propeller, nice one
Great detail %-)
Superb shot Ian – have just read today that there are up to 20 MkIIs Spitfires which were buried in Burma in 1945 still unassembled and in their original crates which may be able to be located and rebuilt ! Now that would be a great project :-))
