Is this Duxford? I remember when I was there in ’07 seeing the line up of aero engines on trolleys and thinking just the same as Andy, why didn’t they lunge forward into the crowd? I seem to recall they were chained to a shackle or something as well. And as Ian says, the noise and the blast is just awesome!

Standing directly in front of them, you do wonder at the brakes. The thought of bolting these engines to trolleys and then revving them up till they howl for the enjoyment of the crowd seems a very British thing to do. I wonder if it’s a common feature at airshows around the world?
The brakes on those little trollys must be good !
