Wreckage of B-29 Superfortress "Over Exposed" which crashed on Bleaklow, England, in conditions like these, 60 years ago.

The wreck site is at grid reference SK 09042 94912 which is just to the east of the trig point on Higher Shelf Stones. It is about an hour’s walk there from the summit of Snake Pass.

    Nice shot, Ian. I like how the wreckage leads the eye to the memorial in the background.
    The colour and contrast coupled with the mist make for an eerie feel.

    This is all very interesting , I knew of and have seen some of these sites but I did not realise the proliferacy of air crashes on our hills .
