Schindler’s List scene, Deutsche Emailwaren Fabrik
In the film, Regina Perlman asks the security guard (window on the left) at Deutsche Emailwaren Fabrik, Krakow, if she can speak with Oskar Schindler. The guard phones up to Schindler who appears at the top of the stairs, takes in the woman in the faded dress, returns to his office on the right and tells the guard to tell her he won’t see her.
She turns up again the day after with a bit of make up on and a new dress, and gets her meeting with the man (she asks him to take on her parents who are at risk of being killed).

Remember the scene well, Schindler has to be cruel to be kind in that scene but then does go on to help the family.
I recognise the shot – and yours is a fantastic version. The mono works brilliantly.

i was 12 when i saw that… i remember the scene. great photo. i like that there is someone at the top of the stairs.

It’s been a long time since I saw the film, and don’t remember it well, more feelings than scenes, but this photo seems very evocative of it, very cinematic, great lines and tones and story telling
