You’d get a job working for "After The Battle" magazine with shots like this. Did you take these shots with the merges in mind or did it just "work out"?

Hi Colin, good to hear from you. Re; the photos, I printed a load off and took them with me. had to keep standing in the middle of the road to nail down the exact spot the original photographer took it from.

This image kinda gives me the creeps as well, to be honest. I am pleased with how it turned out, but that it might have that effect didn’t occur to me till I’d finished and sat back and looked at it.

The calm before the stormtroopers, they do look a bit frightening. If you want to see a bit more of the wrecked X submarines, type in "submarine east lothian" into the flickr search and you should see plenty of images of them. Interesting that they are near Aberlady as my Mum had an Aunt lived there and no-one mentioned them when we visited.

Cheers Neal. John dropped me a line with some details about the sub, I will do as you suggest. Ain’t it peculier when you are really familiar with an area but only later find out something as unlikley to not get mentioned as that.

I doubt the ghosts of Berlin will ever go away no matter how much chrome and glass they lob at it-you have brought that to life with startling clarity. Excellent work.

Awesome work! Having spent 13+ years in Germany, I love these "then and now" shots and how you combine historic photos with modern day images. Keep up the good work!

These then & now shots must have taken an exceptional amount of planning and forethought… congratulations on a great effort and results….
