Gloster Meteor WH301
Gloster Meteors began to replace some RAF squadrons’ Spitfires in 1944, around the same time as the Luftwaffe started operations with their Me262 jet fighters. However, the Luftwaffe built and flew far more jets than the RAF.
This Meteor was built in 1951 and retired in 1965.

Lightning out front and Meteor round in backyard . Charabangs would start coming for a loook .
Ah but Clarkson`s was only a temporary move ( which given the reception it received from his wife isn`t surprising ) – its living back in the Lake District now !

Funny to see small bits of these planes, they look alien,
Nice aircraft and I like the colour popping on the insignia and roundel. Not jealous.
