September 2008 visit
Crashed in low cloud on Bleaklow near Glossop, England, 3rd November 1948. Routine flight from RAF Scampton, crew due to return home 3 days later. All 13 crew died.
This plane had taken part in the Berlin Airlift. Converted from a bomber to photo recon designation, hence the name.

The wreck site is at grid reference SK 09062 94890 which is just to the east of the trig point on Higher Shelf Stones. It is about an hour’s walk there from the summit of Snake Pass.
