Spot the engine!
One of two Bristol Perseus engines from Blackburn Botha L6202 which crashed on Llwytmor and fell down to the stream of Afon Goch. Both engines seem to have become part of the landscape.

Smashing series of shots Ian , so glad you managed to get such a good one of the Aber falls , mine were very poor .
The middle of summer and a walk with the place to ourselves , if it had been in the Lakes it would have been packed with walkers . Its a lovely spot .
Aye, they will all be heading up there now after seeing shots like this, like it.
They might not be heading up that scree slope like we did though 🙂
Just the sight of it has given me the shivers 🙂
I think Aber falls is magnificent and was one of the first proper waterfalls I ever photographed.
I’m suprised to see so much water there.
Oh yes I remember that scree slope….. I didn’t tackle it!
I love this photo, the waterfalls are incredible and the engine just merges so well into the landscape. Beautiful area and amazing to see so much water in the falls.

These are incredible shots – great slow shutter. And the engine really has become part of the landscape in the main shot!

Did you find this from our coords? It’s hard to find even with 6-figure coords-your pic is actually clearer than reality…
Thanks very much everyone. Sean, we used the 6 figure co-ords, but got to say it was hard to see. Paul actually crossed the stream stood right by it and wandered further up stream to look for it. Knew I was in the right spot, went back and found it. I then went off to shout to Paul and at first couldn’t find it again a couple of minutes later when I went back, even from just 2 metres away.

Took me two attempts to find that one. First time I didn’t follow the stream far enough down, so second time I came at it upstream from the Aber Falls end.

it was having seen your photo that I knew what to look for!
Yeah , we split up and did either side of the river , I crossed over next to it and completely missed it (I guess I was too busy not falling in ) Ian stuck to the coords whilst I wandered about aimlessly 🙂
He did well to see it .
Funny thing was that on coming back down the hill from the crash site we arrived at the river quite unintenionally at the engine and refound it easily.
Gosh they sure have, haven’t they.

those falls and the waterway are beautiful! that engine has done well to camo’ in with the scene, amazing really how it’s blended like the rocks. incredible that you found it really!
