Piece of Perspex found at crash site of Mustang AP208

There had recently been a grass fire when I visited the site. I had a quick scout round to see if anything interesting was now exposed. I found nothing, but on the edge of the crash site I found a small piece of Perspex probably from the cockpit. Though this may be wishful thinking…

The edge looks like it goes into a raised round piece, but could be just damage I guess

Your second guess is correct Bryan, it’s where the Pespex has cracked.

I was going to say something stupid like "Perspex? na, its a compass" but I wouldn’t lower myself to that!
I have a collection of small perspex pieces recovered from a mossie that came down short of Banff airfield during the war among other bits and pieces.

The compass for a reference is a good idea ….wish I,d thought of it today .
